BBI report has hinted at splitting constituencies in Kakamega and Bungoma counties. If the report is adopted and passed during the referendum as it is, Malava and Lurambi constituencies in Kakamega are set to benefit. Malava will be split into two. The constituency has eight wards namely Chemuche, Butali, Chegulo, Mahira, Mugai, Shivanga, South Kabras Rural and West Kabras/ Shirugu. The area MP is Malulu Injendi. By 2017, the constituency had 82,136 registered voters. On the other side, Lurambi constituency had 80,037 registered voters in 2017. Lurambi MP is Titus Khamala. In Bungoma, constituencies marked for the split are Kanduyi with 105,565 voters as per the last election. Kanduyi MP is Wafula Wamunyinyi. Then we have Tongaren with 73,969 voters of MP Esieli Simiyu. Bumula has 70,863 voters. Moses Mabonga is the MP.
