The race for Vihiga county senatorial 2022 race has gained momentum as the aspirants who have posted their interests in the seat hit the ground unifying their support from potential voters.
Vihiga senatorial has attracted several candidates with nominated MP Godffrey Osotsi, Nandi County MCA Jackson Swadi Kedogo and former Vihiga County assembly speaker Dan Chitwa .
Osotsi has been cris crossing the county and is said to be working with current senator George Khaniri.The duo are to defect to Raila Odinga led ODM but currently are on ANC ticket.Khaniri wants Osotsi senator to replace him to win the Ebamutete block vote the nominated mp hometurf.
Recently during the burial of former councilor Ben Amukoa’s son in Mwibona ward Luanda sub-county Osotsi received political boost after former y governor Moses Akaranga told the mourners that he supports Osotsi for Vihiga county senatorial seat.
Akaranga who was present in the well-attended funeral with Vihiga women representative Beatrice Adagala described Osotsi as aggressive leader and formidable candidate for Vihiga senatorial seat.
Akaranga said he supports Osotsi because he is the only aggressive and vocal legislature who can agitate for the affairs of people of Vihiga in the senate if elected as senator.
He said Vihiga county need a go getter politician in the senate who can fight for more funds to come to Vihiga county.
Osotsi was also endorsed by Hamisi MP Charles Gimose as the best candidate for Vihiga senatorial seat.
Gimose while addressing Hamisi residents during church harambees at Givigoi and Simbi PAG said Osotsi is a good political fighter who can represent the people of Vihiga in the senate.
