Governor abandons brother inlaw

A brother-in-law of Nyamira governor John Nyagarama is being detained by police over fraudulent tender awards.
Sources say Hillary Obutu’s family tried to have the governor secure his release in vain.
Nyagarama, according to sources, told them off claiming he had paid them dowry and has no links with them apart from the children he sired with their daughter.
Obutu is brother of Naomi Nyagarama.
Known for his underground deals, he was arrested after complaints of obtaining millions of shillings from unsuspecting businessmen and unemployed youths promising to secure them jobs.
Another member of the family suspected of cutting deals is Kiage Obutu.
Investigators were allowed to access Obutu’s bank transactions and those done using ten Mpesa accounts he has been operating.
Obutu is a county employee, working as a driver of the recently acquired fire engine
