Harambee Stars coach Sébastien Migné has named the final team set to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cairo, Egypt later this month.
Four players have been dropped from the initial 27-man squad that has been training in France. They include Sweden-based winger Christopher Mbamba, Anthony Teddy Akumu of Zesco United in Zambia, Clifton Miheso who plies his trade in Portugal second tier league and Brian “Niang” Mandela who was injured in training and plays in South Africa for Maritzburg.
Musa Mohamed, who picked up a knock in Kenya’s first pre-AFCON friendly match against Madagascar on Friday, has been included in the list, as has Abud Omar, who limped off late in the match.
Kenya is set to play its last friendly match against Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday, June 15, 2019, in Madrid, Spain before jetting to Egypt.
Harambee Stars will start off against Algeria on 23rd June before taking on neighbours Tanzania on 27th June and finishing the preliminary round with pre tournament favourites, Senegal on 1st July.
The four-week long event (AFCON) in Egypt will run from June 21st- July 19.
