No arrest days after Wa Iria, Wahome war

No arrests have been made days after supporters of Murang’a governor Mwangi Wa Iria and those of Kandara MP Alice Wahome clashed at William Ruto’s function in county.

The chaos erupted at Kinyoho Secondary School in Kandara. Ruto was delivering a bus to the learning institution.

Wa Iria, once allied to Ruto Tanga Tanga faction in Jubilee but decided to abandon it stormed the venue with his supporters upon learning Ruto allies at another function had questioned the controversial Avocado processing and marketing Bill 2020.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, his Mathira counterpart Rigathi Gachagua and Wahome took issue with Wa Iria for abandoning Ruto and behaving as a he-goat on heat. To Kuria, Wa Iria was feeling political heat and that was why he could not settle either in Tanga Tanga or Kieleweke sides in ruling Jubilee.

When wa Iria got wind of the attacks, he stormed the Kinyoho function with his supporters but was denied entry by Wahome supporters.

At the function, when allowed to speak, Wa Iria was heckled by Wahome supporters, leading to clashes as Ruto watched.

Many expected the governor and supporters to be summoned to record statements by the police as they had not been invited but gatecrashed the function leading to fighting and damage of property.
