Nairobi health CEC nominee Stella Bosire rejected Governor Mike Sonko offer as a protest to an alleged bribe demand by rogue individuals in the vetting panel.
Bosire failed to show up for the vetting process being done by the County Assembly Committee on appointments indicating that there were issues yet to be addressed especially Sonko’s style of management.
She clarified that the problems posed by the county boss included impromptu visits, sensationalizing issues and lack of respect for professionalism.
“Unfortunately, it has come to that. I will serve Kenyans in other capacities,” stated Bosire.
However the committee proceeded with the vetting of other four nominees including former nominated legislator Sanjeev Birdi (Environment), Economic Planning chief officer Winfred Kathangu (Finance) docket, Education chief officer Lucia Mulwa will head Education department and immediate acting county secretary Pauline Kahiga Waititu, is set to head the Public Service docket.
Prior to the vetting Weekly Citizen authoritatively reported rampant sexual advances and bribery.
Vetting board members include Minority leader Elias Otieno, Minority Whip Peter Imwatok and MCAs Millicent Mugadi, David Mberia, Emily Oduor, Peter Wanyoike and Peter Warutere.
Acting County Assembly speaker Chege Mwaura chairs the committee, deputized by Majority leader Abdi Guyo.
