Bungoma town residents have raised a red flag over a suspected thug living in Marel estate near Countryside hotel whose car a Toyota Fielder allegedly has more than six number plates.
Speaking to Weekly Citizen in Kanduyi, the estate residents disclosed that the thug who stays with a lady police officer attached at Bungoma Police Station has threatened area residents who question why his car has been changing number plates day-in day-out.
A police source that was contacted by this writer said most of the officers fear the man as he alleges to have committed several murders the recent being the Matungu attack that left 12 dead.
Residents also alluded that his fiancée who is a traffic officer at Bungoma Police Station and has been staying with suspect is alleged to have been leaking police secrets to the suspect.
“Recently, he wanted to sell an expensive phone at a throwaway price of Sh3,000 and we suspected it was stolen,” said a resident who sought anonymity for fear of his security.
The residents further revealed that the suspect has been going into his compound in company of six men whose occupation still puzzles residents.
Bungoma town business community have threatened to petition Interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i as to why security authorities are reluctant to investigate the suspect’s deals despite many complaints at Bungoma Police Station.
