When National Environment Management Authority ordered the closure of Kibos Sugar, a privately -owned firm, Kisumu governor Anyang Nyong’o, Senator Fred Outa and woman rep Rose Buyu who were at loggerheads decided to unite.
Weekly Citizen has information that Muhoroni MP Onyango K’Oyoo was disturbed after Agro Chemical which is a publicly owned company and employs locals was closed and Governor Nyong’o never raised any issue on behalf of the residents and the general public.
Surprisingly, when Kibos Sugar was closed by Nema, all MPs after being bribed decided to lobby for Kibos to be reopened at the expense of Agro-Chemicals which has been in operation since 1978.
Our sources claimed that Kibos Sugar bribed officials to get cleared by Nema and are now threatening to wind up their operation in Kenya.
CS Keriako Tobiko is said to be bitter that Kibos directors do not value locals but profits and have bribed politicians to lobby to get a clean bill of health to get them back into operations.
