A section of MCAs in Trans Nzoia drawn from different parties led by nominated MCA Margaret Sabina Wanjala of Ford Kenya have vowed that the motion to impeach Trans Nzoia governor Patrick Khaemba will not succeed. Sabina said that there is no ground on which Khaemba of FK will be impeached.
Defending Governor Khaemba she said it is the house to help executive to deliver and not to fight back. She said Erick Wafula of FK has done nothing in his Hospital ward and that he is after governor’s wallet to silence him saying he has nothing to present to the plenary that can kick out the governor.
Sabina who is serving her second term in the assembly said that Khaemba’s win for second term was a clear indication that Khaemba is a good manager. “Chenye ninaona kwa huyu MCA Wafula anataka tu aitwe afinyiwe kakitu ako na njaa kwa sababu hii motion haiendi mahali (What I see in this is MCA Wafula wants to be called aside and be silenced because he is hungry. This motion is not going anywhere)’’ she said.
FK has 14 MCAs, ODM 1 and ANC 1 making the coalition of Nasa to have 17 MCAs in the county assembly while Jubilee has 22.
Wafula is from the same FK party. Some few months ago, Governor Khaemba claimed before William Ruto while in Endebess that the FK Party was smoking due to internal conflicts.
In 2014, the MCA tried to impeach the former speaker David Sifuna without success as the procedure was wrong and the court defended the speaker. Wafula said he was still in the process to finalise it before he takes to the house business committee for approval.
